Honey Butter Fig Compote Recipe

An Original Recipe Brought to You
From the Farmhouse Kitchen at Root & Branch Farms
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of fresh figs
- 4 tablespoons of salted butter
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- Rinse the fresh figs and cut off the stems.
- Chop up the figs. If you are using smaller figs, simply quarter them. If your figs are larger, cut the quarters in two as well.
- Add the figs and butter to a medium-sized frying pan, and begin to sauté them at medium temperature.
- Add the honey and cinnamon. Stir frequently.
- As the compote begins to thicken, reduce the heat to prevent burning. Sauté for about 15 minutes or until the figs are soft.
- Serve warm over pancakes, waffles, French toast, etc. Enjoy!
Yields 4 to 5 servings.
